See my movie. No, really, right now.

Journal Entry: Thu Jul 10, 2008, 10:58 PM
My BRILLIANT animation is on atomfilms. No, seriously, drop everything you are doing and go watch it right this instant. I don't know what you're up to, but it is clearly less important than my movie. For every view I make like $0.0001, so go make me rich!

It's been a year since I completed this film. I still like it on many levels, but I also look at it with a certain amount of exasperation. While I'm happy with the concept and extremely proud of a couple moments... so much of the animation is simply bad. Eventually I'm going to do one of the shorts I have rattling around my brain. I don't have an extended piece of work to my name that is uniformly well-animated, and I'd like to change that.

EDIT: Atomfilms has narrowed its focus and now is solely a comedy site. You can still see Dinner in their "Cartoon Classics" section, but Pygmalion Dreams is gone. Got great feedback while it was their, though!

~SmokedOyster:iconSmokedOyster: Jan 1, 2007, 11:13:22 AM
It's an animated Rorschach. People see what they want to see in it. And since it scares the crap out of you, I'm guessing you see... well, what most people tell me they see! Bwuhahaha.

So, so right.

See, last year I had a professor who convinced me that I didn't know shit about art. She is someone I respect and she has taught me a lot. She also gave me a major complex. That's why all you see here are boring exercises - that's all I did over the summer. In the process, I forgot how important it is to be creative. From fall until now I've been trying to get back in a groove and be myself again.

I do need to upload some new stuff. And some older stuff, that I'm only now realizing isn't crap. Thanks for jostling me.

Life drawing is really important, but I'm wondering what other kinds of work you do! Upload already

Good, I'm looking forward to see what else you have to offer as an artist. :) I'm also, as I think I said before, glad to see someone around here who doesn't just focus on skinny models. Your work is amazing and the reason for your work is amazing as well. Again, welcome to DA - I hope you enjoy your stay.

Sail away where no ball and chain can keep us away from the roarin waves! Together undivided but forever we'll be free! So sail away aboard our rig the moon is full and so are we! We're 7 Drunken Pirates! We're the 7 Deadly Sins!

Thanks, glad you like it. Plenty more coming - this woman does a lot of life modeling in my area, so I've drawn her frequently. Overall, full figured people are great to draw because fat moves and distorts so freely, making for unexpected shapes and lines. Skinny models are great for learning structure and anatomy, but sometimes they are less dynamic.
